My father's therapist suggested that I get a job and hire a nanny to pick the kids up and drop them off at school and then watch them till I get home from work.

I suggest that the folks around me help me open my OWN business rather than suggesting that I go to work for someone else...

This is where we lived when Lion was born. Only one year but it was the hardest, most isolated year of my life. The only bright spot was the pizza. Once a week my mother and sister would come out to see the boys and I and we would all go to this AMAZING pizza place around the corner.
The apartment building is the one with the two staircases.

We've decided. I'm going to call a Realtor tomorrow and we are putting this place on the market.
I don't expect it to move fast but we are finally going to start to look at bigger places, at REAL homes with a backyard for the boys!

Birthday and the shoes

Today my wild oldest son, the one who since birth I've said is either going to end up on Broadway or on an episode of Cops turns 7.
7 years old. My God. How did I get to be the mother of a 7 year old boy?
Today was an insane day. I felt a little like a duck, paddling furiously under water while appearing calm and cool on the surface.
I had to run so many errands to get the goody bags and the cupcakes and the balloons and then get the balloons inflated and then get everything over to school in time for 2pm.
It went off super well and though it was my plan to bake a lego cake for Pats, it seems my darling hubs is saving the day and coming home with a Red Velvet Cake which is one of Pats favs.
Since it's just us and no friends I attempted to keep the decorations on the minimal side.

and for all my hard work, I got a present today too!
These arrived in the mail. The kids have become obsessed with Zombies and when I saw these...

I think I'm officially the coolest mom on the block...

Birthday

Tomorrow PJ turns 7. We aren't having a big Birthday Party for him. (Like his mommy he seems to be a bit of a loner and doesn't really have any pals, which is a topic for another post.)
I'll be bringing in Cupcakes to his class but his party is just going to be me, Lion, Mike, my mother, father and sister.
He started out wanting to have an Indiana Jones party. Cool with me. I ordered custom Indiana Jones Lego cupcake toppers for him and started to map out decorations and a color theme.
This morning he woke and told me he no longer wants Indiana Jones. Now he wants a Lego themed Birthday.
Oy.
Okay, I'm cool. I can do that. I figure I'll use the Indiana Jones toppers at school and at home I'll be making him a Lego Birthday Cake much like the ones you see above.
It's my plan that with the left over cake I'm going to make cake pops to look like the above Lego heads.
I'll have balloons in primary colors and table cloth and plates and cups in the same. The table will be decorated with Legos.
Today I have to go back to the Cake Supply shop and get food coloring in the proper colors (White, Yellow, Blue, Red) and to the Party Supply shop to get the stuff for the party.

Project #1

I get to start one of my projects today.
Not going to tell you what it is but I'll give you a hint.

EXHAUSTED

I'm so tired today. I want to crawl back into bed and go to sleep for a zillion years!
It's my plan today to go to Boot Camp at 9am and then head into the city to do the stairs at my mom's place.
I want to do at least 2 sets of stairs for a total of 34 flights. Nothing fancy. Going to walk up, back down and up and down again.
I'm going to time it to see how long it takes me to walk at a "normal" pace so I can have a baseline and a place to work from.
On another note, I found this photo taken at one of Mike's cousins weddings. This is his entire extended family. His mom dad and brother are in here as well. Look at how fat Mike and I are!

Tattoo Idea

I'm going to be headed to Tattoos are Forever

Ultimately I want this to be a sleeve but we are going to start with the cupcake at the top and go from there.
Here is the cupcake:

I want to eliminate the cherry from the top (Honestly, how often do you see a cupcake with a cherry on it's top?) and the banner as well. I want to have a wrap around banner that has my kiddos names in them            "Patrick & Brian"

Frosting should be a rich bright blue and the wrapper should be a white wrapper with a pale yellow tint (Vanilla cake inside)

I want sprinkles for sure! I'm a huge fan of the nonpareil:

I don't want the cupcake sitting all alone and lonely. That's icky. I'd like it to have a background that we can build on as the tattoo grows.
It's hard to tell with this tattoo but along with the candy around the tattoo are little hearts in random places. I LOVE that idea and would love to do it on mine.

 I LOVE the "crown" on this cupcake. The sort of halo effect is awesome

and as the sleeve goes on, here are the candies I want to have as a part of it. They are in no particular order or importance.

I want this to be very bright and super colorful. A color bomb almost.
Along with the hearts in the background I'd like to have random little color dots.
